A team captain and member of the UNCW SAAC group, she has volunteered with First Tee of Greater Wilmington and assisted with the Miracle League game. ![]() Mallory Fobes, UNCW – Fobes compiled a 3.526 GPA while majoring in Tourism, Recreation and Sport with a concentration in sports and recreation. He posted the third-best single-season scoring average in school history in 2022-23, tied the W&M record for low 18 and 36-hole scores, and broke the 54-hole scoring record at 15-under. Feinstein earned second-team All-CAA honors in 2023 and was recognized as a GCAA All-America Scholar in 20. A three-year team captain, he was recognized as a Monroe Scholar at William & Mary and was inducted into Beta Sigma Gamma for being in the top 10 percent by GPA of his graduate business class. Matthew Feinstein, William & Mary – Feinstein is pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration after completing his undergraduate degree in finance and history with a 3.94 GPA. She was named to the CAA All-Tournament team in 20. Gaebel has played a key role at goalkeeper for a Blue Hens’ field hockey squad that captured four straight CAA championships. Gaebel made the Dean’s List in each semester and is a four-time member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad. A two-year team captain, she is a member of the Delaware SAAC group and has volunteered at the Soup Kitchen at Friendship House and with UDance, an organization that helps combat childhood cancer. Lizzie Gaebel, Delaware – Gaebel is working on a Master’s degree in Business Analytics and Info Management after completing an undergraduate degree in Science Operations Management with a 3.77 GPA. Pidgeon earned All-CAA accolades in 2021 after a 10 th-place individual finish at the CAA Women’s Cross Country Championship. In 2021-22, she received the 302 Award, given to the student-athlete who most embodies the definition of a Blue Hen on their team. Pidgeon serves as Chief of the Delaware SAAC group and has worked as a HENS mentor for incoming freshmen student-athletes for three years. A Dean’s List member during every semester, she was an Eagleson Award recipient from the Honors College and twice earned the College of Education and Human Development Excellence in Academic Achievement Award given to the student with the top GPA. Jessica Pidgeon, Delaware – Pidgeon has compiled a 3.988 GPA while majoring in Elementary Teacher Education with a concentration in ESL and a minor in disability studies. He added all-conference accolades in indoor track after winning the mile race at the CAA Championship (4:06.15) and outdoor track following a third-place effort in the 1500 meters. DiLaurenzio earned All-CAA honors in cross country after a 13 th-place individual finish at the 2022 conference championship with a time of 25:20. A three-year team captain, he is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Athletics Honor Society and has served as a volunteer with Special Olympics and the annual beach clean-up project. Louis DiLaurenzio, Monmouth – DiLaurenzio is pursuing a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice (intelligence analysis) after completing his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with a 3.845 GPA. 337 with a homer and 22 RBI’s and committed only four errors defensively at the catcher position. On the field, Pittara made 24 starts for a Seahawks’ baseball team that captured the CAA regular-season and tournament titles. He has also served as a UNCW Baseball Camp leader. ![]() ![]() A team captain and a two-year member of the UNCW Leadership Council, he has organized ministry-focused service events to engage students in fellowship while creating a safe environment for them to ask difficult questions regarding faith. Kevin Pitarra, UNCW - Pitarra achieved a 3.83 GPA while majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in supply chain management. The 2022-23 CAA Leadership and Sport Excellence Award winners are as follows: One student-athlete, who represents the highest standards of teamwork, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship in his or her academic and athletic achievements, was selected in each of the other 21 sports sponsored by the Conference.Īfter evaluating the nominees, the CAA’s Faculty Athletic Representatives voted on the winners.
